The Tenuta di Vignale is a charming agriturismo immersed in a romantic and timeless atmosphere, located in Riotorto, just 5 km from the sandy beaches of the Gulf of Follonica. The property is housed within a historic villa from 1746, passionately managed by the Giuli Rosselmini Gualandi family for over 20 years, and surrounded by the tranquility of the Tuscan countryside.
The main villa and the farmhouses of the ancient estate are enveloped by vineyards, olive groves, pines, and oaks, while on the horizon, the blue of the sea merges with the azure of the sky, offering picturesque views and an authentic, relaxing stay experience.
The agriturismo features 7 independent apartments, created within the historic villa and rural buildings. The accommodations, completely renovated, are furnished in Tuscan style, with wood and terracotta finishes, combining modern amenities with original furnishings from the early 20th century, preserving the charm of the ancient residence.
Within the Tenuta, the ancient oil mill has been restored and transformed into a multipurpose hall, ideal for conferences, training courses, meetings, private events, and ceremonies, set in an exclusive context rich in history.
The Tenuta is situated on a gentle hill overlooking the plain of the Cornia River, near the ruins of an ancient castle known as “Vignale Vecchio.” The toponym Vignale likely derives from the Latin vinealis, reflecting an agricultural tradition linked to vine cultivation.
Since 1746, the Giuli Rosselmini Gualandi family has owned approximately 720 hectares of land, divided into four areas of the Val di Cornia:
Vignale: the historical heart of the estate and the family residence, now home to the agriturismo with 7 apartments.
Paduletto: a 140-hectare agricultural production center, dedicated to the organic cultivation of Cappelli durum wheat, spelt, chickpeas, lentils, and cicerchie, part of the Ecor–Naturasì supply chain.
Aiuccia: a forested area of over 300 hectares, bordering the Montioni Natural Park.
Bronzivalle: 250 hectares of Mediterranean scrub, where the homonymous agriturismo is located, converted from the family's ancient hunting lodge.
