Description
The Campeggio La Finoria is located in Gavorrano, in the heart of Maremma Grossetana, about 20 minutes from the sea and at an altitude of 273 meters, surrounded by the greenery of the Parco della Finoria. The facility is currently closed for an important redevelopment project, which will breathe new life into one of the most picturesque natural spaces in the area.
The project, promoted by Silverfield Srl, aims to create a high-level accommodation, integrated with the landscape and the local economic, social, and cultural context, enhancing the natural and historical resources of the area even outside the classic tourist season.
The renewed Campeggio La Finoria will be a non-conventional facility, designed according to the concept of glamping, capable of combining high comfort and total immersion in nature, while fully respecting the environment.
The future accommodation offer will include:
Wooden and masonry bungalows and chalets
Equipped pitches
Furnished tents
State-of-the-art mobile homes
Iconic Silverfield caravans, inspired by the style of Old America in the '60s, with contemporary design
There will also be bars and a restaurant open to the public, reception, sanitary facilities, children's play areas, socialization spaces, and an environmental workshop for educational activities.
The total investment is estimated at around 6 million euros, creating 20–50 jobs, and includes interventions for geological safety, fire safety, and sustainable resource management.
Set in a highly valuable natural setting, among chestnuts, oaks, Mediterranean scrub, and local wildlife, the campsite will offer breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding hills. The new management intends to strongly promote sports and outdoor activities, particularly:
Mountain biking and cycling
Trekking and excursions
Horseback riding
Birdwatching
Running, orienteering, and outdoor activities
The trails will integrate with the Parco della Finoria, the Bandite di Scarlino, and the Colline Metallifere, creating a network of sports and nature experiences.
Gavorrano is a medieval village in the Alta Maremma, overlooking the coastal plain and surrounded by woods and vineyards. An ancient mining center (active from 1898 to the 1980s), it now hosts the Mineral Natural Park of Gavorrano, an important cultural and tourist hub.
The area is rich in history and traditions, from Castel di Pietra to the legend of Pia de’ Tolomei, mentioned by Dante in the Purgatorio, to the historic center with the Church of San Giuliano and the Davide Manni Documentation Center.
